June 2024 · 3 minute read

We’ve had a few food-named singles over the years, who can forget about the Fast Food Rockers with “Fast Food Song”? There’s also been Nick Jonas’ “Bacon”, Galantis’ “Peanut Butter Jelly”, and Las Ketchup’s “The Ketchup Song”. There has been just as many to do with drinks Kelis’ “Milkshake”, Inna’s “Cola Song”, Alexandra Stan’s “Cherry Pop” & “Lemonade”, and G Girls’ “Milk & Honey“; and that’s just the ones off the top of our heads. Now we get to add a Kállay-Saunders’ song to this food and drink collection. He has released “Nachos” in promotion of a Hungarian snack food delivery service NachosExpress.

This singer/songwriter is best known for coming fifth in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014; he represented Hungary with his song “Running” under his full name András Kállay-Saunders; he gained 143 points.

Since then he created his own band, called Kállay Saunders Band, who competed in A Dal in 2016 and 2017 in the hope of representing Hungary at Eurovision. The band entered with songs “Who We Are” and “Seventeen” respectively. In both years they made the finals, they were in the top four in 2016, and was in the top eight in 2017.

We’ve been hoping for new music from the band since their participation in A Dal 2017 since we’re in love with their music and the album they released in 2015 titled Delivery Boy. As we wait for what we can only hope will be the second album; Kállay-Saunders has released this “Nachos” hip-hop track.

Watch The Music Video To Kállay-Saunders’ New Song “Nachos” Here:

We’re not quite sure what to make of this, and if you’re feeling the same, we really don’t blame you. We watch András Kállay-Saunders with a group of friends throwing nachos everywhere. They throw the chips around as if they’re dollar bills or thick wads of cash. There’s even a bathtub filled with nachos.

Towards the end of the video, we watch NachosExpress turn up at the door. The woman brings in a large money sack filled with nachos that Kállay-Saunders opens and throws up into the air.

You may think this music video is bizarre, but it’s certainly memorable in every way. Not only that but Kállay-Saunders proves his vocal prowess. Just look at all his previous singles, he has dipped in and out of so many genres already, from pop-ballad to pop-rock, from contemporary pop to hip-hop. Is there anything this guy can’t sing?

The song was written by the singer himself, whilst the video was directed by LeHo. This is one track that just proves that you can sing a song about nachos and make it good.
