Peter Abraham's Unexpected Passing Leaves Friends and Family Heartbroken
The Plymouth community is mourning the loss of one of their own, Peter Abraham, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023. He was just 49 years old. According to reports, Peter had been battling complications from long COVID when he died. His sudden death has left his tight-knit circle of friends and family devastated.
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Peter grew up in Plymouth and attended the Sacred Heart Schools in nearby Kingston during his formative years. He discovered a passion for competitive ice skating at a young age which eventually took him all over the world. His skating career culminated in director positions at schools in Houston, Texas and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where he built up their skating programs.
In 1998, Peter joyfully returned to his beloved hometown community to embark on the next chapter of his life. He completed his undergraduate degree at Curry College while also beginning to work in event planning. His natural talent and enthusiasm for the events industry led him to serve a 4-year term as Chapter Chair for IAEE New England.
Passionate About His Work and Community
Whatever Peter did, he did it with passion and excellence. For the last decade, he worked in sales at Freeman, dedicating himself to providing top-notch service to his clients, many of whom he considered dear friends.
Outside of work, Peter was heavily involved in community organizations and cherished time spent with his family and inner circle. He had an adventurous spirit and loved experiencing new cultures and places.
Peter is survived by his partner of 22 years, Michael Mihalik, his devoted parents Nancy and Bob Abraham, his brother Paul, and a wide network of friends from all walks of his life. He touched countless lives with his bright spirit and warm heart.
Battle With Long COVID Complications
According to sources close to Peter, he had contracted COVID-19 earlier in the pandemic but never fully recovered. He was suffering from several long COVID symptoms including fatigue, brain fog, and shortness of breath. In recent months, his condition deteriorated rapidly. Despite aggressive treatment efforts, he sadly passed away on Tuesday after fighting hard against the complications.
Peter's age and lack of known preexisting conditions make his untimely death all the more tragic. His loved ones are shocked that a normally healthy man could be taken so suddenly. It's a sobering reminder that COVID can affect people of any demographic in unseen ways.
Outpouring of Grief From the Community
News of Peter's passing has rocked the tight-knit Plymouth community. On social media, heartfelt tributes and memories have been pouring in from friends and acquaintances alike.
He touched many lives over his 49 years through his warm personality, compassion for others, and zest for living life to the fullest. Though gone too soon, his bright spirit and legacy of joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Looking Ahead While Honoring Peter's Memory
In the difficult days ahead, Peter's family has asked for privacy and prayers as they grieve the enormous loss of their beloved son, brother, and partner. Plans for a memorial service are still pending.
His parents Bob and Nancy said in a statement, "Our hearts are shattered losing Peter so unexpectedly. He was our shining light. We find comfort knowing he's at peace in God's arms now."
While nothing can erase the pain of his absence, his loved ones intend to honor Peter's vivacious spirit by embracing life, family, and community just as he always did. Peter Abraham's short but remarkable life will remain an inspiration.
