Dance music wizard NGHTMRE unveils his first EP, UNSOUND, since 2017 via Gud Vibrations. The EP features collaborations with RNSOM, Ray Volpe, Deadlyft, and Rosie Darling.
Talking about the EP, NGHTMRE shares, “‘The UNSOUND’ EP is a bit of a preface for my upcoming album. I have been working on lots of new music throughout the year and these are some of my favorite collaborations I’ve done! I think the EP has a perfect balance of heavy, festival-ready tunes, as well as some more easy listening melodic. Everyone who worked on this EP is incredibly talented and I think deserves more recognition for their work. I hope this EP brings to light some of the amazing under-appreciated artists who helped write this music.”
NGHTMRE began his stellar career remixing songs by various artists, followed by producing his own songs and collaborating with other producers. After Skrillex performed one of NGHTMRE’s songs at the Ultra Music Festival, he hooked up with Mad Decent, Diplo’s label, releasing “Street.” In 2015, NGHTMRE debuted at EDC Las Vegas.
Since then, along with amassing hundreds of millions of streams, NGHTMRE has performed at Billboard Hot 100 Fest, Hakkasan Las Vegas residency, Lollapalooza (Chicago, Paris, Berlin), Electric Zoo, Mysteryland, Creamfields, Amnesia Ibiza, Space Ibiza, Cream Ibiza, Shambhala, Middlelands, Coachella, Zouk, Ultra Music Festival, Holy Ship!, and Tomorrowland. In addition, he’s collaborated with the crème de la crème of artists, including Pell, Dillon Francis, The Chainsmokers, Big Gigantic, A$AP Ferg, Shaq, Lil Jon, ZHU, Gunna, and Whiz Khalifa.
Embracing four tracks, UNSOUND begins with “Signal” with Ray Volpe, opening on oscillating synths topped by vintage vocal samples. Glittering with swirling colors and anarchic harmonics, “Signal” projects a tight sonic edge.
Soft and gently gorgeous, “Euphoria” ripples with mellow layers of glowing leitmotifs. Whereas “Sweetest Thing” merges delicious textures of pop and future bass into an alluring musical confection. Velvety, intimate vocals give the lyrics bewitching passion.
The final track, “Ring The Alarm,” might be the EP’s best track. Heavy, fluctuating synths punctuated by massive bass drops imbue the tune with dazzling heft.
NGHTMRE continues to evolve his sound, expanding his creativity in new and fascinating ways. UNSOUND is fresh and potent.
