Tim Widing, a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the Korn Ferry Tour, was born on July 14, 1997. Widing was raised in Jönköping, where at the age of 13 he also began playing golf for the A6 Golf Club. He was a successful young guy who took part in the junior Masters Invitational and won several matches on the Teen Tour.
Tim Widing competed as an amateur and earned two silver at the European Team Championships and one silver in the Junior Golf World Cup in Japan. Widing competed in golf tournaments from 2016 to 2021 with the San Francisco Dons team after receiving a scholarship to the University of San Francisco.
In June 2021, Widing made his professional debut. Over the course of the summer, he earned seven starts on the European Challenge Tour. After his fourth start, he had taken the lead in the Euram Bank Open, but he was forced to stop due to a food allergy brought on by poor spaghetti carbonara.
Widing earned a spot on the PGA Tour Latin America in 2022 by placing second in the Q-School competition at Estrella del Mar in Mexico. His best result at the Abierto del Centro was a tie for fifth, and by coming in 33rd overall, he maintained his spot. He won the Storyi Temecula Open on the Golden State Tour in February, and in the Argentina Classic in December, he placed third all by himself.
Widing joined the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour after finishing tied for 29th in the Final Stage of Q-School at Savannah’s Landings Club.
